On January 29, 2017, six precious lives were lost, and 19 worshippers were severely injured in a White supremacist terrorist attack on Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City, located in the suburb of Sainte-Foy.
The members of Canadian Muslim Coordinating Council “MCC-NCR” grieve with our brothers and sisters in the Muslim community of Quebec City on the grim fourth anniversary of this horrific event.
Brothers Ibrahima Barry,39, Mamadou Tanou Barry,42, Khaled Belkacemi,60, Aboubaker Thabti,44, Abdelkrim Hassane,41, and Azzedine Soufiane,57, lost their lives on this day. To their families, we offer our heartfelt condolences, and pray that Allah, in His grace, will continue to give them the strength to cope with their enormous loss and grief.
Who is Alexandre Bissonnette, the suspect at the centre of the Quebec shooting attack?
To the brave families of the survivors, we offer loving solidarity, as they continue their struggle to rebuild their lives in the face of the trauma from the savagery that was visited on them.
It is our earnest desire that our leaders at all levels of government will continue to work with us to spread harmony and love among Canadians of all religious and cultural backgrounds.
